RAK Municipality, AIT ink MoU to boost energy efficient initiatives – MEP MiddleEast

The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), establishing a framework for collaboration in the field of energy management.

The agreement will promote effective knowledge sharing in areas including energy efficiency initiatives for the industrial sector; development of sustainable energy programmes; awareness; and capacity building.

The MoU was signed during a virtual meeting between the director-general of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, HE Munther Mohammed Bin Shekar, and the chief executive officer of AIT, Wolfgang Knoll.

Commenting on the agreement, HE Munther Mohammed bin Shekar said: “The government of Ras Al Khaimah is committed to the successful implementation of the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040. We welcome the collaboration with Austrian Institute of Technology, since their expertise in industrial energy efficiency in Austria is relevant for us in developing effective programmes for high intensity energy users in Ras Al Khaimah.”
