UAE to raise clean energy use to 50% by 2050 under environment policy

By 2050, 50 per cent of electricity in the UAE shall be clean and emission-free, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) said on Wednesday as it officially launched the country's Environmental Policy, which the Cabinet approved in late November.The UAE Environmental Policy is also aimed at cutting individual and institutional energy consumption by 40 per cent by 2030 and strengthening the country's climate change adaptation capabilities by 2030.Policy details laid outThe ministry on Wednesday held a virtual media briefing, explaining the details of the policy.
