DEWA likely to award completion contracts for new headquarter building in Q2 2023

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is expected to award a construction contract for its new headquarter building Al Shera'a, located in Jaddaf, Dubai in the second quarter of 2023.

The tender for completion of Al-Shera’s Building and associated works for the balance works including metro link was issued on 7 February 2023 with submission date of 5 April 2023, according to the DEWA website. The closing date has been extended to 4 May 2023.

The contract is expected to be award end of second quarter of 2023, a source told Zawya Projects, adding that the project is slated for completion by fourth quarter 2024.

Al Shera'a is slated to be the "tallest, largest, and smartest government Net Zero Energy Building with net zero carbon emission in the world," according to past DEWA press statements. The 15-storey project is slated to have a total built-up area is over 2 million square feet and will generate over 6,500 megawatt hours (MWh) a year of renewable energy using building integrated and distributed solar photovoltaic panels.
