DEWA’s Youth Council enhances youth participation in the sustainable development journey

Dubai, UAE: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) attaches great importance to supporting young people, investing their potential, and enhance their participation in the sustainable development journey. The total workforce at DEWA includes 3,397 young employees aged between 18 and 35 years; comprising 30% of staff. DEWA’s Youth Council plays a key role in creating communication bridges with other youth councils across the UAE. From October 2019 until the end of December 2022, DEWA’s Youth Council organised more than 65 activities, 25 awareness lectures, and 4 educational trips and field visits. The Council participated in 9 international forums and conferences and hosted 6 delegations within the benchmarking visits programme. A number of council members were delegated for two national and international programmes in 2022. In addition, the Council launched many initiatives and more than 10 communication platforms for its youth employees.
