Dubai’s DP World reports 1.4% rise in gross container volumes in 2022

DP World Limited handled 79 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) across its global portfolio of container terminals in 2022. Gross container volumes rose 1.4 per cent year-on-year on a reported basis and up 2.8 per cent on a like-for-like basis. Meanwhile, DP World handled 19.5 million TEU in Q4 2022, up 2.4 per cent on a like-for-like basis. Jebel Ali (UAE), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Angola (Angola), Sokhna (Egypt), London Gateway (UK), Constanta (Romania), Caucedo (Dominican Republic), Posorja (Ecuador), DP World Santos (Brazil) as well as its Australian ports (Brisbane, Sydney, Fremantle and Melbourne) delivered strong results, on an asset level. However, Jebel Ali handled 14 million TEU in 2022, recording a 1.7 per cent year-on-year growth.
