Expo City Dubai to host COP 28 – MEED

The 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 28) will be hosted at the newly unveiled Expo City Dubai in 2023.

The selection of Expo City – the legacy phase of Expo 2020 Dubai – is based on the similar objectives of "achieving sustainability and promoting international action as essential steps towards facing global challenges," reported the official Emirates News Agency (Wam).

In November 2021, the UAE was selected to host COP 28, as it makes steady progress in its energy transition journey. It will be the second Middle East country to host a COP session, after Egypt later this year.
