Parkin, the state-backed parking management company, has signed an agreement with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) to increase the number of EV green charger stations at prime locations across the emirate.

Launched in 2014, Dewa’s EV green charger initiative supports the national electric vehicles policy and the Dubai green mobility strategy 2030, said managing director and CEO Mohammed Al Tayer.

By the end of April 2024, the number of EVs in the emirate reached more than 30,000. 

The number is expected to increase in the coming years, Al Tayer said. Additionally, registered EV green charger customers rose from just 14 in 2015 to over 15,000 by the end of March 2024.
