Abu Dhabi posted $51.78bn worth non-oil foreign trade in 11 months; SCAD

A new report titled “Non-Oil Foreign Merchandise Trade Through the Ports of Abu Dhabi”, by the Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has revealed that the value of non-oil foreign trade passing through Abu Dhabi ports over 11 months in 2021 amounted to nearly $51.78 billion marking a growth of 2.9 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

The non-oil trade of Abu Dhabi was distributed between imports worth $22.6 billion and non-oil exports worth over $19.38 billion, an increase of 5.4 percent compared to the same period in 2020, in addition to re-exports valued at about $9.64 billion.

In November 2021, the value of foreign trade through Abu Dhabi’s ports amounted to more than $5.54 billion, which is divided between imports worth $2.28 billion which marks 41.1 percent of total trade, non-oil exports worth $2.12 billion or 38.3 percent of total trade and re-exports worth $1.14 billion or 38.3 percent of total trade.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia was Abu Dhabi’s leading non-oil merchandise trade partner in November 2021, with a $1.33 billion trade exchange value, followed by the US with $400 million, China with $310 million, and Oman with $310 million.
