Housing Ministry launches urban sustainability initiative in East Sitra | THE DAILY TRIBUNE | KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing green and sustainable residential cities.
This supports Bahrain’s plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 and aligns with the United Nations’ 11th Sustainable Development Goal of creating ‘inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities’ by 2030.
Al Romaihi made these remarks at the launch of a city planting initiative for the East Sitra City Housing Project.
The Minister praised the efforts of National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Secretary-General Her Excellency Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa and others involved in the city tree planting initiatives, which are crucial for increasing green spaces through public-private partnerships..
The East Sitra initiative is the second such project, following on from a successful effort in East Hidd city.
Continuing its dedication to green living, the Ministry has launched an initiative to provide each housing unit beneficiary in East Sitra with an agricultural seedling, encouraging residents to partake in greening the city.
