Ministry of Social Development collaborates with Bahrain SMEs Society and HOMIEZ to support productive families

The Head of the Family Development Department at the Ministry of Social Development, Dr Jawad Aljad, discussed with Dr Abdulhasan Al-Dairi, Chairman of the Bahrain Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Society, and Mr Sadeq Abdulrasool the Chief Digital Officer of Homiez for digital shopping, cooperation in the field of training and qualifying Bahraini productive families in the field of digital shopping.

The meeting, held at the Capital Complex for handmade Bahraini products and joined by Mrs Maryam Hassan, Head of the Complex, reviewed the procedures for implementing an initiative to empower productive families under the umbrella of the “Khatwa” program. The goal is to accelerate the digital transformation of their projects and to invest in the tremendous opportunities given by e-commerce in showcasing their products through digital storefronts and accessing regional and worldwide markets.

Dr Jawad Aljad commended the collaboration in this ambitious effort, which supports the “Khatwa” program’s goals of building productive families. Specifically, by assisting low-income families, it constitutes a qualitative complement to the support system acquired by Bahraini productive families and boosts the Capital Complex project’s commitment to making the Kingdom of Bahrain a centre for productive families.
