NBB participates in ‘Green Up’ project to promote environmental awareness and air quality enhancement

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has partnered with CleanUp Bahrain (CUB), a local non-profit environmental organisation, to finance its latest initiative; the Green Up Project. The new project, in collaboration with the Southern Municipality, aims to plant a total of 810 trees along the 16 December Highway covering project phase two and three to help absorb around 8.5 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide within 5 years, help mitigate air pollution, and improve temperature in this congested area. Emphasising the bank’s ongoing spread of environmental awareness, this latest initiative seeks to attract different segments of the population to actively participate in enhancing the Kingdom’s environmental future, aligning with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
