Tamkeen and BETCH discuss development of the ICT sector in Bahrain

His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, the Chairman the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), recently met with the Chairman of Bahrain Technology Companies society (BTECH), Mr. Tariq Qassim Fakhroo. During the meeting, they discussed the Society’s plans and initiatives to develop the tech sector in Bahrain by supporting tech companies, helping to increase the sector’s contribution to GDP, and the initiatives for the training and integration of increased national talent within this vital sector.

HE Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa stated that Tamkeen has always strived to support the national economy and all its sectors, including key sectors which are aligned with national priorities. This includes the ICT sector as it contributes to driving economic development. He added that Tamkeen commends the initiatives of BTECH which have included events, programs and seminars that have been held locally and internationally.

Ms Maha Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) reiterated that Tamkeen’s strategy includes various initiatives and programs related to supporting the adoption of modern technologies and their application to projects and businesses. This will accelerate the growth of Bahraini enterprises and enhance their competitiveness, as well as their ability to create high-quality jobs.
