Africa Data Centres uses strategic investment from United States International Development Finance Corporation to expand operations

Africa Data Centres (www.AfricaDataCentres.com), a business of Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology group, has drawn down the first tranche of USD 83 million out of the USD 300 million strategic investment from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) approved in 2021. This initial tranche is being applied towards expanding ADC's data centres in South Africa.

Subsequent disbursements from DFC will be used to realise the expansion of ADC's footprint of data centres in other DFC-eligible African countries. ADC is executing an ambitious plan to build data centres in ten of Africa's largest economic capitals, including Abidjan, Accra, Lagos, Cairo, and Casablanca. And to existing data centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town, further cementing ADC's position as Africa's largest operator of a pan-African network of interconnected carrier-neutral data centres.

Commenting on the expansion of the data centre operations in South Africa, Tesh Durvasula, CEO of Africa Data Centre, said, "The increasing demand for cloud and other digital technologies on the continent has directly increased the demand for African data to reside within the continent.
