Egypt’s Sisi orders intensifying work in power linkage projects with neighbouring countries


Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi ordered the government to intensify efforts of implementing power linkage projects with neighbouring regional countries. He called for maximising the benefit from electricity on a yearly basis, whether through local consumption or export to the countries linked to the interconnection networks. The president's directives were issued during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker on Wednesday to follow up on the progress concerning the national projects related to the electricity sector, according to a statement by the presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
