CAIRO – 29 November 2020: It was recently raised that the owner of a property in Giza refused to post a sign for Egypt's Ministry of Culture's project “Aash Hona” (Lived Here), bearing the name of the famed late artist Shadia, claiming that the building was inhabited by other celebrities who are more deserving than her to have their names on the sign.

 

 

Mohamed Abu Saada, head of the National Organization for Urban Harmony, confirmed that the a sign was designed bearing the name of Shadia to be included in the “Lived Here” project, to commemorate her and introduce her to the newer generations.

 

 

Saada confirmed that the owner of the property where Shadia lived did indeed refuse to post the sign bearing her name.
