PM inspects development projects in South Sinai’s Saint Catherine – Egypt Today

CAIRO – 14 October 2022: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Friday inspected a number of development projects in Saint Catherine's city of South Sinai governorate. The premier is currently on a visit to South Sinai to follow up on preparations for the United Nations Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27), to be hosted by Sharm El Sheikh city in November. During his inspection tour, the prime minister was briefed on the development works of Saint Catherine airport. Concerning the "Great Transfiguration" project around Saint Catherine, Housing Minister Assem El Gazzar told the prime minister that the Housing Ministry outlined an all-out blueprint for developing the sacred site to become a worldwide destination for spiritual, mountain, medical and eco-tourism, in addition to providing various tourism and recreational services for visitors. Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction Mahmoud Nassar reviewed the progress made in a project to establish a residential district in El Zitouna area of Saint Catherine. The project includes constructing 21 residential complexes, as well as establishing a school, a mosque, a church, and a number of shops.
