King stresses need for ceasefire in Gaza in call with Guterres – Roya News English

His Majesty King Abdullah II received a phone call Thursday from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. The call discussed the critical developments in Gaza and the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, ensuring the sustainable delivery of aid.

During the call, His Majesty affirmed the pivotal role of United Nations organizations in the humanitarian response in Gaza and the delivery of relief aid under challenging conditions in the Strip.

King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's rejection of the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing the need to counter such attempts and enable Gaza’s residents to return to their homes.

His Majesty warned of the catastrophic consequences of expanding the conflict to the region, urging the international community to address the dangerous escalation against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

King Abdullah emphasized Jordan's rejection of attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue and the separation between Gaza and the West Bank, which together constitute an extension of the unified Palestinian state.
