Severe traffic jam in Amman – Roya News English

Amman is currently experiencing a severe traffic congestion on the Airport road and Amman-Irbid road.

A security source spoke to Roya regarding this, and have attributed the traffic jam to it being a Thursday and the end of the weekend for employees, in which a large number of employees leave the capital Amman and back to the governorates, in addition to Jordan currently “hosting events.”

Other roads such as the Queen Alia Hospital area also witness severe congestion on Thursdays.

Jordan is currently hosting delegations from governmental and non-governmental organisations, as well as representatives from Arab and foreign countries in a meeting in Amman.

The meeting seeks to coordinate humanitarian efforts towards Gaza and is part of the “Aqaba meetings” initiative that aims to establish a mechanism to coordinate the humanitarian response to the crisis in Gaza and ensure an adequate and continuous flow of aid into the Strip.
