Berri tackles latest developments with Ain El-Tineh visitors, calls for joint session on Thursday to discuss amendments to Social Security Law, receives letter from his Ugandan counterpart

NNA - House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Friday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, Head of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, with whom he discussed the current general conditions in the country, especially the economic ones, as well as the latest poltical developments.

On emerging, MP Makhzoumi stressed the necessity of the election of a president of the republic.

Speaker Berri also met with former Minister Ghazi Al-Aridi, over the most recent political developments in the country.

The Speaker later received the Consul of Uganda to Lebanon, Mohammed Khodor Hussein, in the presence of the Head of the Lebanese-Uganda Forum, Selim Farah.

Consul Hussein handed Speaker Berri a written letter from the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Anita Among.

The visit was also an occasion during which they discussed the current general situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

On the other hand, Berri called on the Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, Public Health and Labor, and Social Affairs Parliamentary Committees to a joint session on Thursday, January 26, 2023,  at 10:30 a.m. to study a draft law within decree No. 13760, which aims at amending some provisions of the Social Security Law and establishing a retirement and
