Justice Minister meets with newly appointed Italian Ambassador to enhance judicial cooperation

NNA - Caretaker Justice Minister, Judge Henri Khoury, on Friday met with the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, accompanied by the Embassyrsquo;s First Secretary, Ms. Valeria Bianconi, who paid him an introductory visit after assuming his diplomatic mission in Lebanon.nbsp;

Discussions reportedly centered on avenues to activate judicial cooperation between Lebanon and Italy.nbsp;

Following the meeting, the Italian Ambassador stated: quot;We held a productive meeting with Minister Khoury, with whom we discussed various issues related to future cooperation between Lebanon and Italy in the judicial field. As an embassy, we are prepared to study and implement a series of projects related to this domain.

In turn, Minister Khoury commented, indicating that the meeting quot;was fruitful as it delved into ways to enhance judicial cooperation between the two countries and Lebanon#39;s specific needs in this regard. The Italian side has expressed readiness to assist and provide all possible support to ensure the proper functioning of justice in Lebanon. We will remain in constant communication with the Italian embassy regarding the needs of the Lebanese judiciary.quot;
