Rahi follows up on latest local developments with Diman visitors

NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi on Thursday met with Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) leader, MP Gebran Bassil, at the summer patriarchal residence in Diman.nbsp;

The pair discussed the overall situation, particularly the issue of the Lebanese presidency.

In the wake of the meeting, Bassil said, ldquo;What was discussed is much more important than any media statements. What we said should not be disclosed to the media.quot;

Patriarch Rahi separately welcomed a delegation from the land registry authorities in Mount Lebanon.

The delegation conveyed to the Patriarch their struggles resulting from harassment, ongoing judicial cases against them, and violations of their dignity and the sanctity of their homes.

The Maronite Patriarch finally met with UN Special Representative Joanna Wronecka, who briefed him on the speech she delivered at the United Nations, reaffirming the United Nations#39; commitment to assisting Lebanon overcoming its crises.
