Muscat – Buraimi Governor’s Office and Oman Development Bank (ODB) recently organised an investment forum with primary focus on investments in development projects and tourist sites in the governorate.

The Investment Opportunities Forum – in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 – showcased a range of projects aimed at developing tourist sites, preserving heritage monuments, revitalising traditional and commercial markets in Buraimi governorate.

Under the patronage of Dr Hamad bin Ahmed al Busaidi, Governor of Buraimi, the forum commenced with a commitment to attract investments and enhance public facilities within the governorate.

The Buraimi Governor’s Office has assigned 105 projects worth approximately RO16mn, Busaidi informed. Additionally, he said, financing agreements were signed for projects exceeding RO5mn, accompanied by three memoranda of cooperation and eight assignment agreements.

“The forum extensively explored over 884 investment opportunities.”

Highlighting specific initiatives, Governor Busaidi mentioned the upcoming implementation of the Buraimi Oasis project in downtown Buraimi.

“This project encompasses a mini-mall, a hotel, pedestrian-friendly areas, public squares, a mini-museum, and a captivating reflective fountain. Another significant undertaking is the artificial lake project, set to elevate the tourism sector in the governorate. The lake will feature various water attractions, children’s play areas, a conference centre, and a theatre.”
