Madayn invites tender for multiple projects in Sur

Muscat – The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn has invited tenders for construction of a 3-star hotel, a health centre and a desalination plant in Sur Industrial City.

These projects are part of the initiative to boost development in South Sharqiyah governorate.

According to a statement from Madayn, the deadline for bid submissions is July 13.

Eng Abdulqadir bin Salim al Balushi, Director General of Sur Industrial City, highlighted the significant growth observed in the city from January to June this year.

During this period, eight projects were completed at a total cost of over RO30mn.

Balushi said that the focus of the governorate is on attracting value-added projects that cater to the local market and align with the sustainable blue economy vision of South Sharqiyah.

“These projects also contribute to technology transfer in Oman. The projects cover various sectors such as generator and turbine manufacturing, furniture production, perfume manufacturing, aluminium processing, shipbuilding, fish freezing, fodder production, and supporting industries.”

Sur Industrial City is currently running 127 projects, with an investment of RO2.3bn, that provided employment to approximately 1,514 nationals out of its total workforce of 2,656.
