MHUP offers 300 acres of land for agricultural investment



Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP) is working to boost economic mobility and increase national income by providing 300 acres of land in Buraimi governorate for agricultural investment.

The initiative aims to support population and economic growth while facilitating private sector participation in attracting investments across governorates to foster the development of sustainable urban communities.

An official in MHUP informed that 300 acres of land in the Mrigeel area, located in the wilayat of Mahdah, will be made available through public auction for usufruct contracts.

The initiative’s objectives include enhancing potato and green leafy crop production, increasing the agricultural sector’s contribution to local production, adopting modern agricultural technologies and irrigation methods, and promoting the development of agricultural investment activities.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between the private and government sectors, create employment opportunities, and enhance food security in the sultanate.

Diversifying investment efforts

In an effort to diversify investment opportunities, the ministry is offering 84 sites for usufruct contracts through the Tatwir platform in eight governorates to stimulate the real estate sector and drive investments. These sites range in size from 150sqm to 20,000sqm and will be available for usufruct contracts through online auctions.
