MoSD ropes in OQ to support persons with disabilities

The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement with OQ, the global integrated energy group, to support persons with disabilities through various programmesMuscat – The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement with OQ, the global integrated energy group, to support persons with disabilities through various programmes.

This agreement embodies the community partnership programmes adopted by OQ as part of its social responsibility initiatives.

The agreement – signed by H E Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Social Development; and Talal bin Hamed al Awfi, Chief Executive Officer of OQ Group – is expected to boost the efforts that are being made to empower persons with disabilities to achieve the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

It aims to achieve strategic objectives with a view to addressing the challenges faced by those persons, and benefiting from the opportunities available to create initiatives and projects that serve disabled persons in the sultanate.

The agreement contributes to finding appropriate solutions to develop services for persons with disabilities, as well as enhancing governance and integration between strategic partners at a sectorial level.
