Municipality issues tender for implementation of street vendors project in Seeb

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has issued a tender to implement a project for street vendors in the southern Mawaleh area, along Sultan Qaboos Street, with a total area of ​​16,715 square metres.

Project goals:

The project aims to organise the activities of street vendors in the Wilayat of Seeb in general and distribute them according to vital sites and areas, in line with the municipality’s plans regarding the increase in the activity of the number of street vendors, and the resulting randomness in organization, as the project wanted to protect vital and residential sites from direct emissions of smoke from grilling carts. In addition to developing and beautifying the area located in the project site, while at the same time preserving the economic and social returns of street vendors’ activities, in addition to Muscat Municipality’s keenness to take care of the health aspects of these activities in a way that ensures the health and safety of the consumer, and facilitates the roles of health control and the performance of food inspection teams within one environment, which enhances the improvement of the services provided and food safety.

The street vendors project was designed in a distinguished location in the southern Mawaleh area in the
