North Batinah on RO14mn development spree

North Batinah is set to undergo significant development with an investment of RO14mn over the next three yearsMuscat – North Batinah is set to undergo significant development with an investment of RO14mn over the next three years, focused on urban renewal, beautification of waterfronts, parks and gardens, and eco-tourism infrastructure.

 An announcement to this effect was made at a press conference held last week in Sohar, led by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah.

The development programme includes a variety of projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life and boosting the economic potential of the governorate. Sohar Festival, which commenced on Thursday, is one such initiative, designed to bolster the local economy and provide income opportunities for families and jobseekers.

Muhammad bin Qasim al Shizawi, Head of Quality Control Department at the Governor’s Office, detailed the planned investments. These include urban revitalisation of wilayat centres, beautification of wadi banks, creation of running  tracks and extend to developing hubs for trucks and improving entrances to various wilayats.

Shizawi further informed about the signing of three significant investment and real estate usufruct agreements, exceeding RO11mn. Key among these is the Aqua Park Resort in the wilayat of Suwaiq, a 148,000sqm entertainment project
