Oman to start monitoring Air Pollution soon

Muscat: “During the current quarter of 2023 Oman will be launching its own stations to monitor air pollution level,” said His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Omari, Head of the Environment Authority on Monday in an exclusive statement to Al Shabiba – sister news corporation of Times of Oman.

Pointing out that there is a system to monitor air pollutants in the various governorates, Dr. Abdullah Al Omari added "It will be linked with a control room and an operations room that operates around the clock and throughout the minutes and seconds at the authority's headquarters."

Zero Neutrality by 2050

Speaking exclusively to Al Shabiba on the side-lines of ‘The Oman Environmental Sustainability Conference,’ Dr. Abdullah Al Omari remarked “The Sultanate has recently launched a road map towards a green economy, as well as completed the environmental policy for the energy sector, in addition to its national plans for zero neutrality by 2050, and all these efforts aim to reduce the effects of climate change, whether in adaptation or mitigation."
