Oman witnesses a 4% decline in insured workers

The National Center for Statistics and Information has revealed that the number of insured Omanis working in the private sector witnessed a decline of 4%, totalling 274.8 thousand citizens by the end of November 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

Notably, 49.5 thousand citizens fall within the bracket of RO 400 to less than RO 500. Additionally, the construction sector led with 49.1 thousand Omanis, followed by wholesale and retail trade, mining, and manufacturing.

Among the findings, the report pointed out an increase in Omanis working in financial and insurance activities by 2.7%, reaching 17.4 thousand citizens. The Muscat Governorate secured the top spot with 87.6 thousand insured Omanis in the private sector, followed by North Al Batinah and Al Dakhiliyah Governorates.

The data showcased a 14.2% increase in Omanis working in professional, scientific, and technical activities, reaching 13.5 thousand citizens. Clerical professions dominated with 52.4 thousand citizens, while public administration and business managers in the private sector reached 37.4
