Oman’s Ministry Announces Development of 3 Massive Megaprojects

Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced the development of three megaprojects in the country’s Dhofar, Musandam, and South Al Batinah governorates. The new megaprojects’ proposals were chosen from among the many submissions for a development project that can be implemented in one of the governorates.

The megaprojects were revealed at a meeting between the ministry’s officials and governors on Sunday in Muscat. Here is all you need to know about the upcoming megaprojects in Oman:

Rathath (Drizzle) Boulevard in Dhofar

- Project duration: 4 years

- Project valuation: RO40 million

- Location: Itin in Salalah

- Project area: 470,000 square metres

What it will include: The undertaking will feature an artificial waterway, a water feature, dining establishments catering to both local and international cuisine, an educational garden showcasing diverse plant life, suspended pathways, theatres, commercial areas, and a hub for hosting various events.

This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive recreational destination that embraces Omani customs and traditions, catering to visitors from both within the country and abroad.

Rimal Park in South Al Batinah

- Project duration: 2 years

- Project valuation: RO6.9 million

- Location: Al Batinah Expressway, extending 3 km from an integrated service station

- Project area: 225,000 square metres
