Riders from Oman to explore Himalayan challenges

A team of 12 bikers from Oman Riders is preparing for a challenging expedition in the Himalayan mountain range in IndiaMuscat – A team of 12 bikers from Oman Riders is preparing for a challenging expedition in the Himalayan mountain range in India.

Starting on Friday, their 1,500km journey from Ladakh to Kashmir will negotiate through some of the region’s toughest terrains.

The team will rent 400cc mountain bikes in India, chosen for their suitability for rugged conditions.

“The Himalayas have always been a favourite destination for us. Most bikers prefer roads less travelled, and the Himalayas offer the perfect blend of challenge and serenity,” said Khalid al Azri, chairman of Oman Riders.

This adventure follows last year’s successful trip from Kashmir to Ladakh, inspiring the team to make it an annual tradition. The nine-day journey will cover daily distances of 200km to 300km.

“Our ride not only promises adventure but also underscores the enduring allure of motorcycle travel and the bonds forged through shared experiences in the great outdoors,” Azri added.

Oman Riders includes members from Oman, India, and European and other Arab countries, reflecting a commitment to cultural exchange through motorcycling.
