Muscat – To discover Omani talent in the field of innovation among school students, the Ministry of Education has launched a project called Tharwa in South Batinah.

Amna Mohammed al Balushi, Director of Department of Special Education and Continuous Learning in South Batinah, informed that the project targets 369 Grade 6 students from 19 schools in the governorate. Students took a creativity and innovation test for the project.

The project aims to spot students who have high mental capacity for creativity and innovation, determine their degree of intelligence, and educate the local community about the importance of identifying gifted students and nurturing them.

According to Dr Moza bint Hilal al Saadiya, Head of Department of Special Education and Continuous Learning in the governorate, there was smooth conduct of assessment tests as a result of early preparations for the project coordinated by a special committee formed by representatives of various schools in the governorate.

“The committee held special workshops for students to develop their creative skills and innovative ideas and spread awareness on the project,” Moza said.
