Wadi Juby Dam construction work in Yanqul completed

Yanqul: The field and construction works of Wadi Juby Dam (Al Shuiyah Dam) in the Village of Al Shuiyah, Wilayat of Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate has been completed.

The dam has been constructed with the efforts of the society and under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior represented by Yanqul Municipality. The cost of the project is over OMR85,000.

Ali bin Humaid Al Badi, supervising on the project said that the length of the dam is 69 metres, the height is 9 metres with storage capacity of 22, 000 cubic metres.

He said that the dam is constructed under the specifications for construction of dams in the Sultanate of Oman and accommodates a number of tourism and entertainment facilities to attract visitors.

The dam would serve a number of villages in the wilayat of Yanqul including the villages of Al Shuiyah, Al Muraibi, Al Mashak, Al Roudha, Al Jazirat and Al Buwairda among other villages and areas.

The dam accommodates several public facilities for the visitors and a certain area was allocated for tourism investment.
