QatarEnergy awards final major North Field East Project EPC contract – The Peninsula

Doha: Marking the final major milestone to deliver its North Field East (NFE) LNG Expansion Project to boost Qatar’s LNG production capacity to 110 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), QatarEnergy announced today the award of a major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the North Field Expansion Project.

A joint venture between Técnicas Reunidas S.A. (TR) and Wison Engineering (Wison) has been selected as the EPC contractor and was awarded a lump-sum contract for the expansion of the sulfur handling, storage, and loading facilities within Ras Laffan Industrial City.

These facilities will support the NFE’s four new LNG trains, which are scheduled to start by year-end 2025. The contract will also include an option for further expansion to support sulfur production for the two additional LNG trains of the North Field South (NFS) project, and infrastructure to support future additional LNG trains.
