UCC Holding increased BUA of The View Hospital by 20% at shell and core stage – Construction Week Online

Qatar-based UCC Holding, which was tasked with building a [luxury] hospital by Assets Real Estate Development, made no “compromises” in its services despite a revised mandate.

The project, which was originally designed to be a luxury hotel, saw minimal changes in the build and design, as it was still in its early stages, at the shell and core stage.

Speaking with Construction Week, Ramez Al-Khayyat, Vice Chairman and Group Managing Director of UCC Holding said: “We increased the built up area by almost 20% to accommodate operating rooms, clinics, and emergency departments. However, we didn’t change too much in the rest of the building, barring the core in order to comply with healthcare requirements.”
