Saudi Fund for Development explores cooperation with Japan’s JICA

Saudi Fund for Development’s (SFD) CEO Mr. Sultan Al-Marshad and the CEO of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Akihiko Tanaka have discussed the latest developments in cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting comes to strengthen relations between the two sides and to activate the memorandum of cooperation with JICA. During the meeting, they discussed the means of delivering more impactful development projects and enhancing development efforts.

Further, the officials discussed about the “Cooperation for Prosperity” initiative, which aims to enhance cooperation in the development field through exchanging experiences and knowledge as well as developing the latest tools and means to contribute to achieving sustainable development in countries benefiting from development support.

According to the statement, “The meeting was part of Mr. Al-Marshad’s official visit to Japan to bring SFD and JICA together, with the aim of enhancing collaboration to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).”

The meeting included an introductory tour for the JICA delegation at the JICA headquarters and training center, during which the delegation members met with the Agency’s officials, got acquainted with the working mechanism, and listened to a brief presentation of the most important work of JICA, the Fund said.
