Saudi: SEVEN awards contract for Al Kharj theme park

According to a report by MEED, SEVEN’s new development will cover 160,000 square metres in the Al Khuzama area of Al Kharj.

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN), a subsidiary of the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, has awarded a contract to Egyptian group Hassan Allam Holding to construct an entertainment complex.

Gensler and Lebanon’s Dar Al Handasah have been designated as project consultants, with Mace Group as the project management consultant.

Bids for the project were submitted in September 2023, a month after tender for the main contract was issued.

SEVEN projects launched so far

Armed with over $13 billion, SEVEN is aiming to redefine the future of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment landscape by investing in 21 integrated entertainment destinations across 14 cities.

Last year, it launched the SEVEN Abha theme park in Aseer worth $347.1 million (SAR1.3 billion) and another in Yanbu worth $292 million (SR1.1 billion).

SEVEN has already initiated construction on three entertainment destinations situated in the Al Hamra district of Riyadh, Tabuk, and Almadinah. Additional locations are currently in the planning stages as the company anticipates welcoming its first guests by early 2025. The entirety of the planned destinations is scheduled to be open by 2030. Saudi: SEVEN awards contract for Al Kharj theme park
