Saudi’s Mawani signs $27mln agreement to build integrated logistics park

Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and MEDLOG, the logistics arm of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co., have signed an agreement to build a 100 million Saudi riyal ($27 million) integrated logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

The development will cover 100,000 square metres and will have the capacity to handle 300,000 containers a year, the authority said in a tweet.

The deal will help Mawani meet its goals of increasing the number of national logistics zones to 30 and increasing the Kingdom’s logistics performance index ranking to 4.01 by 2030.

In September, Mawani had signed seven contracts and memoranda of understandings worth over SAR900 million ($240 million) with partners from the public and private sectors to establish a new integrated logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port.
