Arada awards $99.9m construction contract for Aljada’s Nest community – MEP MiddleEast

Sharjah-based real estate developer Arada has awarded a contract worth $99.9mn (AED367mn) to Intermass Engineering and Contracting Company for the construction of Nest – UAE's integrated student housing complex, which is based at Arada's Aljada megaproject.

Intermass Engineering and Contracting Company is a Sharjah-based contractor with more than 40 years of experience in the regional construction industry. The contractor has also worked on previous phases at Aljada and at Nasma Residences, Arada's first project.

Construction work on the 12 five-storey apartment blocks at the Nest community is due to begin immediately, with the first units to be handed over in Q2 2022.

The contract award coincides with the news that Arada has just completed 10 million safe man hours without a lost-time injury (LTI) at Aljada.

Commenting on the project, the chairman of Arada, HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, said: “The Nest community fits perfectly with Sharjah's mission to provide a progressive and all-round educational experience for students from the UAE and around the world.
