Dubai: Rent a villa for Dh37,000 to Dh85,000 in these areas

Latest trends indicate that Dubai tenants have been increasingly moving from apartments to villas and townhouses since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The trend is driven by families' need to have more space. Several residents continue to work from home and their children learn online.

This change in tenants' preference was reflected in data released by Chestertons, which suggested that apartment rentals dropped 12.4 per cent, while villa rents fell just 5.3 per cent last year.

Lynnette Abad, Director of Research and Data, at Property Finder, said that at the beginning of the pandemic, searches for villa/townhouses increased 400 per cent, while those for apartments declined.

“We also predicted pent-up demand as we knew soon-to-be buyers were going to purchase properties due to attractive prices in the market and also the lowest mortgage rates we have ever seen. Since then, we have seen the results of this by having record-breaking months in November and December of 2020 for secondary/ready property," said Abad.
