Blue Residency visa will revitalise the UAE construction sector

The Blue Residency Visa is a unique and remarkable global initiative designed for individuals who have made an exceptional contribution towards the environment’s protection and sustainability, both inside and outside the UAE.

The UAE construction sector will see revitalisation following the approval of the ‘Blue Residency Visa’ initiative by the UAE Cabinet under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This visa is given to supporters of environmental action, including members of international organisations, international companies, members of associations and non-governmental organisations, global award winners, and distinguished activists and researchers in environmental work. It is given to both, Emiratis and resident advocates of the environment.

The building, construction and real estate sectors are avenues for sustainability and environmental conservation including environmentally friendly urban planning, engineering and architectural designs; building, decoration and furniture materials recycled or manufactured according to green standards; heating and cooling processes that protect natural resources such as water; and reducing electricity consumption. These sectors directly support more than 36 business activities that employ hundreds of thousands of people in various fields that contribute to promoting sustainability, green technologies, environmental protection, and circular economy principles.
