Emirates & Air Canada sign MoU to improve cargo capacity

Emirates SkyCargo and Air Canada Cargo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of providing additional benefits to its global air cargo clients.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Nabil Sultan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Cargo, and Mr. Matthieu Casey, Managing Director Commercial, Air Canada Cargo, at Emirates Headquarters in Dubai, UAE.

Under the provisions of the MoU, both companies will collaborate on several projects, including extending cargo interline alternatives and making block space arrangements. These will provide both airlines’ freight clients with increased capacity on a broader combined worldwide network.

Air Canada Cargo will have access to Emirates SkyCargo’s high-frequency distribution network through the belly holds of Emirates scheduled passenger flights to over 140 worldwide destinations, as well as the additional capacity provided by the Emirates fleet’s 11 freighters. In exchange, SkyCargo can access more than 60 Canadian locations and more than 150 destinations on five continents via Air Canada Cargo, with a fleet of Boeing 767 freighters and the belly-hold capacity of Air Canada’s scheduled passenger flights.
