Landlords, Hotel owners can rent out short-term holiday homes in Ajman

The Emirate of Ajman is the latest to permit short-term rentals for visitors to the UAE. Ajman’s Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) recently unveiled its ‘Holiday Homes services’, to boost tourism numbers. These services were published as per the Emiri Decree No. 6 of 2023 after approval from Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman. The holiday homes create a comprehensive regulatory framework to govern and supervise the operations of short-term rentals throughout the emirate. The framework has been created to develop a sustainable holiday home model as tourism numbers rise. Property owners and hotel management companies will now be able to lease residential units for short durations, allowing for flexible alternatives to conventional one-year rental contracts. Registration for holiday home permits will be accessible through the ADTD’s electronic services system in the first week of June 2023.
