PROJECTS: Dubai developer Deyaar awards $100.7mln construction contract

Dubai-based developer Deyaar has awarded main construction contract worth 370 million UAE dirhams ($100.7 million) for the third and fourth phases of its Midtown community to G&B Contracting.The development is located adjacent to Dubai Production City near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.The third phase Noor district is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022, the company, listed on the Dubai Financial Market and majority-owned by Dubai Islamic Bank, said in a statement.Deyaar Development CEO Saeed Al Qatami said Midtown development was designed with emphasis on community living and basic amenities."After the successful delivery of the first two phases, we believe this is the right time to start construction on the new districts," he said.Afnan and Dania, first two completed districts of the Midtown development, comprises of 13 buildings and more than 1,200 apartments.Khalid Ababneh, Vice President, Projects and Commercial said Dania and Afnan also feature a total of 30,000 square feet of retail space that encompasses an anchor supermarket, nursery, restaurants, ladies and gents' salons and a pharmacy.The Noor district would comprise of seven buildings incorporating studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, according to the Midtown project's website.
