RTA awards contract worth AED700million for Al Khail Road Improvement Project

In response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, to expand the road network infrastructure to keep pace with Dubai's continuous growth and cater to the urban and demographic needs to ensure seamless traffic flow, and under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract worth AED700 million for Al Khail Road Improvement Project.

This project features the construction of bridges spanning 3,300 metres, along with road improvement works covering 6,820 metres across seven locations along Al Khail Road, including Zabeel, Meydan, Al Quoz 1, Ghadeer Al Tair, and Jumeirah Village Circle. The project contributes to expanding the capacity of current intersections and bridges by approximately 19,600 vehicles per hour to streamline the traffic flow along Al Khail Road, eliminate traffic overlapping at flyovers crossing Al Khail Road, ensure a smooth traffic flow, and cut down travel times by 30%.
