UAE: World’s Tallest Hotel’s Foundation Almost Completed

The world's tallest hotel Ciel, coming up in Dubai Marina, has achieved its first milestone as its foundation nears completion.

With more than 11,800 cubic metres of concrete and 3,000 tonnes of steel being used to construct the building's foundations, the largest concrete pour was completed this week, comprising of 7,000 cubic metres of concrete over a continuous 48-hour period. A final pour consisting of 1,000 cubic metres of concrete is scheduled for September 3, 2020.

Slated to open in 2023, the hotel's developer, The First Group, has appointed China Railway Construction Company (CRCC) as the main contractor.
