Airports Line Up For Hudson’s New One-Stop ‘Evolve’ Store Concept

One of North America's most familiar airport retailers—Hudson—will debut a new shop concept in a few weeks time providing passengers with a one-stop solution for their needs, while giving airports a simplified path to their traveling shoppers. Called Evolve, the store extends Hudson's familiar convenience format by adding an array of well-known names—among them Apple AAPL , Bang & Olfusen, Burt's Bees, Herschel, Lego, and Tumi—as well as up-and-coming local brands in shop-in-shop spaces. On average, each store will be about 2, 500 square feet, though the biggest—slated for Chicago Midway Airport—will be 6, 700 square feet. Evolve will select each brand from up to seven product categories: sunglasses; electronics and entertainment; personal care and wellness, luggage and writing instruments; accessories and apparel; local goods and souvenirs; and travel essentials and snacks (more details at the end). The retailers has the benefit of accessing the huge portfolio of brand partnerships from parent Dufry, the world's biggest airport retailer.
