Edamah awards Arab Architects an MEP design contract for Reef Mall revitalisation – MEP MiddleEast

Bahrain's Edamah Property Management Company (EMPC), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), has awarded Bahrain-based architectural and engineering firm, Arab Architects, a consultancy contract to conduct the technical and design assessments for Reef Mall, which is set to undergo a significant revitalisation.

The mall, located in Malkiya, serves the communities of Malkiya, Hamad Town, Sadad, and the upcoming Lawzi area.

Arab Architects will undertake the required studies to evaluate the mall from architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing perspective, following which a phased refurbishment plan will be launched.

The closing stage of the six-month contract includes producing detailed drawings and outlining the rectification methodology.

Commenting on the contract award, the general manager of EPMC, Waleed Adel Ali, said: “The enhancement of Reef Mall is in line with our commitment to developing community spaces around the Kingdom by stimulating the local economy and supporting local businesses.

“Reef Mall caters to a sizeable and largely underserved area of the Southern Governorate and represents an excellent opportunity for eateries, service outlets, and retailers. We are pleased to partner with Arab Architects on this project, given their deep local knowledge and expertise.”
