Consumer in Muscat gets refund of over RO 38,000 as vehicle falls short of specifications

The Complaints Department at the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) facilitated the refund of RO 38,750 to a consumer in Muscat.

The post Consumer in Muscat gets refund of over RO 38,000 as vehicle falls short of specifications appeared first on The Arabian Stories News.MUSCAT : The refund came in response to the consumer’s dissatisfaction with a purchased vehicle that failed to meet specified criteria.As per a statement issued by the CPA, the consumer had purchased a 2022 electric vehicle from a local car dealership, expecting it to have a range of 600 kilometers. However, upon utilizing the vehicle for only two days, it became evident that the actual range fell short, measuring only 430 kilometers.

The consumer then filed a complaint with the Complaints Department of the CPA, and the agency officials were summoned to address the issue. The agency officials cooperated and worked towards a resolution. The consumer demanded a refund of the full amount paid, including the security deposit, and the agency agreed to return the money and take back the vehicle.

The CPA emphasizes the necessity for all suppliers to adhere to relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the provision of satisfactory products and services to consumers.
