CPA awareness campaign kicks off in Masirah 

Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) launched an awareness campaign called ‘Hemaa Masirah’ in Masirah Island, South Sharqiyah, on Monday.Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) launched an awareness campaign called ‘Hemaa Masirah’ in Masirah Island, South Sharqiyah, on Monday.

The three-day campaign kicked off under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdullah Abdul Wali Baawain, Wali of Masirah. 

The aim of the campaign is to create an effective partnership between the local community and CPA, and educate consumers about their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Consumer Protection Law, along with its executive regulations and amendments. 

Additionally, it seeks to familiarise them with goods that are prohibited from sale and circulation, as well as about misleading advertisements and strategies to combat these. 

Throughout the campaign, consumers will also be introduced to the unified Gulf Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and informed about the procedures for submitting complaints and reports. 

Several events are planned as part of the campaign, including a lecture titled ‘Consumer Protection Authority – Efforts and Challenges’, which will be held at Masirah Air Base. 

There will also be a workshop targeting members of Omani Women’s Association in Masirah and various activities and events organised specifically for school students on the island.
